OCTOBER/NOVEMBER  NEWSLETTER

RESULTS  Please e-mail or give in writing to Sam  your competition results, as you can imagine this time of year there are a lot of dogs competing and it is difficult to get round everybody. If you give Sam your results they will appear in the news letter.

Sara and Floyd went to Southdowns and got a clear round in Large jumping grade 1-2 combined, and came 7th place in large Helter skelter but the organizers ran out of rosettes!!! Typical!!!! Never mind Floydie, you don’t need rosettes to show how well you have done this year. Well done to you both.

Also, a special mention for Gemma and Barney. They were missed off the last newsletter, but all through the summer they have been working hard and achieved some good consistent results together. We are looking forward to hearing how you get on next year, I’m sure the rosettes are going to be flooding in!

AGILITY TRAINERS

Lynn and Carol recently attended a ‘trainers training weekend’ at the end of the weekend they had to sit exams, and I’m pleased to tell you that they both passed with flying colours! Learning new training techniques mean we can offer a variety of ways that we can help you with your dog. Lynn and Carol are agility club approved agility instructors.

Your say……. (submitted by Lorainne)

In a press release today, the National Institute of Health has announced the discovery of a potentially dangerous substance in the hair of dogs. This substance, called "amobacter caninii" has been linked with the following symptoms in females: Reluctance to cook, clean or do housework, a reluctance to wear make-up, good clothes or high heels. Reluctance to spend money on home or car repairs until after 'Baby' has new collars, leashes, beds, treats, food, blankets or toys.

"Amobacter caninii" usually results in long hours away from home and exhaustion which may lead to a loss of physical contact with other humans (especially husbands and boyfriends). "Amobacter caninii" is thought to be addictive, driving the need for additional sources - this may lead to a "pack mentality" or like the crisp advert, "you can't have just one". Beware! If you come in contact with a female human infected by this substance, be prepared to talk about dogs for hours.

Surgeon General's Warning: Dogs are expensive, addictive, and may impair the ability to use common sense.

CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

Christmas opening times are as follows.

Obedience dog/puppy party will be held at Beckington village hall 30th November. Obedience classes will then be closed 14, 21, 28 Dec, and will re-start Monday 4th January 2010.
Agility parties 9/10 Dec. 16/17 normal classes. Closed 24/25, 30/31. We will re-start 6/7 January 2010.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our members a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Please be careful what your puppies/dogs are eating during the festive season. Lots of the rich food that we enjoy with the festivities can be extremely bad for dogs, and we would like to see you all back healthy in the New Year. Thank you for making 2009 a good year for the club, and we look forward to 2010.
